WHO IS IT FOR?

Clubs, associations and organising bodies involved primarily in the conduct of FEI, FEI Regional and EA disciplines events and in training and development activities related to these sports.

WHICH TYPES OF AFFILIATE CATEGORIES ARE AVAILABLE IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA ?

Each state may have slightly different Club and Affiliate categories. Equestrian SA offer the following four.

UNDERSTANDING EA GROUP AFFLIATION CATEGORIES

Group Affiliations are targeted at those bodies that conduct equestrian activities. When determining which Group Affiliations you would like to take with Equestrian Australia, please ensure you understand the conditions around closed events.

There are three EA group affiliation categories:

  1. Clubs
  2. Commercial
  3. Sport Affiliates

Clubs involved in Equestrian sports can gain a range of benefits if they affiliate with EA

Note: The Equestrian SA categories of Sport Affiliate/Schools and Agricultural/show society fall under the EA Sports Affiliate Category.

You should not confuse EA Affiliated Clubs with EA Insured Clubs - these are two different things.  Just because a club is EA Affiliated it may not be EA Insured.

  • Disciplinary - Affiliated clubs may report breaches of EA Rules, and EA will investigate such complaints.
  • Medication Control of Horses: Equestrian SA abides by the Equestrian Australia Medication Control Policy (1 January 2018). Equestrian SA expects that Affiliates of ESA would conduct their shows under these policies.

Note: Equestrian SA may choose to test horses at any event, but testing will not take place without the consent of the Organising Committee of the show/event. Shows/events that charge competitors a “swabbing levy” must organise through Equestrian SA to have an accredited Horse Swabbing Steward attend their show and use the income generated by the levy for this purpose. On application, there may at times be provision for some costs to be covered by Equestrian SA.  All show/event schedules should include the following wording: Medication Control of horses may take place in accordance with the Equestrian Australia Medication Control Policy (1 January 2018).
