What is Stewarding?
Stewarding is an integral part of all sports/disciplines. Even though the rules are different for each discipline the underlying principles of stewards remain the same. Whether it be high level events were top professionals compete right down to lower - level grass roots club and local events stewards support, and in many cases, are the first point of contact with EA or FEI officials.
Who Can Attend?
Any ESA member who aspires to be a Steward, regardless of discipline.
How Do I Become an EA Steward?
- Attend an EA approved Steward seminar
- Complete the ASC e-learning Community Officiating General Principles.
- Be a current member of Supporter or Competitor category,
- Have a personal fitness level that will enable you to physically complete the practical requirements of the course and the duties required of an EA National Steward
- Competently complete open rule book tests (ORBT) comprising one generic steward and one discipline specific, with a pass mark of at least 90% in each
- competently complete 3 shadow stewarding experiences preferably with 3 different accredited FEI stewards
