ESA Member Update (Friday 12.05.23)
On behalf of Equestrian SA (ESA), I trust this note finds you well, ready to enjoy a weekend of equestrian activity in your plans.
This message is aimed to provide you and our membership at large, brief insight associated to the recent resignation of the ESA Board earlier this week.
Participation
First and foremost, with confidence all members can continue to be active in the sport and enjoy their horses.
Insurance
Both Equestrian Australia (EA) National Office and Marsh Insurers confirm that the pre-planned events & activities can continue through the 2022-23 membership year, being Friday 30 June 2023.
The current EA/Marsh National Insurance Program captures everything from recreational to competitive riders, coaches, judges, course builders, all other officials, affiliated clubs, event organizing committees, office operations, and discipline sub committees of the board, to continue all forms of equestrian participation from such as riding, attend clinics, to competition programming. Have Fun!
Governance (vacant board)
At this stage there is a process underway to determine the future of ESA governance. The independent advice being sought is directed to find a solution with an outcome that acts to support Equestrian Sport, ESA members and their horses.
In closing, thank you for your ongoing patience and keeping calm while we work through this unprecedented circumstance.
JP CHEVALIER - ESA, Executive Officer
