Return to Sport - Stage 1 – Eventing SA
After a successful previous weekend of Group Training at cross country, catering for 20 riders, Eventing SA is offering a second weekend of cross country training in groups of ten riders, specifically for ESA eventing members, on Saturday 23rd May.
This is an opportunity for all our ESA riding members to get some value for their membership during this Covid-19 disrupted period, where all competition has had to be cancelled.
Sessions will again be at Sunburst Equestrian, 168 Darby Road, Echunga. There would be a qualified EA instructor present as one of up to 4 group leaders (from among Senior squad members), but the Training would not officially be a “lesson” and insurance would be covered by riders EA insurance and private property indemnity waiver. (This is the same situation when individuals hire our cross country course, at their own risk).
Facility fee would be 50% reduced, from $30/horse to $15 for these two initial sessions (and donated to Eventing SA 'on horse' squad funds).
Depending on numbers wishing to participate this Saturday, we could organise three groups of ten riders with riders then split into two groups of five, spaced over the whole day with each group separated by an hour for changeover.
Times for 3 groups would be 8.30 to 10.30 ; 11.30 to 1.30 ; and 2.30 to 4.30. This gives up to 30 riders the opportunity to get back into group training.
We are seeking expressions of interest to participate, stating level of jumping and preferred time, morning or afternoon.
EA membership is a requirement for participation in the Training XC sessions for insurance purposes, and approved, tagged helmets and back protectors are required safety measures.
Places are limited, please send expressions of interest to [email protected]
Specific Modifications related to Covid-19 restrictions.
- Participants should sign at statement of wellbeing (and if possible could have temperature taken prior to admittance).
- No participant should be allowed with any snuffles, cold, itchy throat etc – no matter the reason given for them.
- Physical distancing must be maintained between individual floats & horses tied to floats. Float parking 4 metres at least apart.
- People coming in one float should stay close to their float and not mingle with others.
