VALE Jill Best

Jill, a longtime member of ESA and a stalwart of Show Horse will be greatly missed, particularly by the Show Horse community.

 

Jill was a very successful competitor in Show Horse from the time she was a child. Later on, her daughter Rebecca continued with the tradition and overtime also placed several horses in professional stables and continued to enjoy great success in South Australia and on the Eastern seaboard.

 

Jill and her husband Richard were regular volunteers at SA run events and Jill spent many years on the ESA Show Horse committee. She was a National Show Horse judge and judged around Australia at Horse of the Years and Royals with a highlight being invited to judge at the EA Show Horse Nationals in 2022.

 

Jill, Richard and their great friends Mary and Frank Bawden, were well known around Australia as they were always seen as they sat together in the grandstand at Royal Shows and National events watching the show Horse events.

 

Apart from her great love of beautiful show horses she loved singing. Jill was in many choirs and at Christmas time was always very busy singing Christmas carols to the older community.

 

Jill will be greatly missed by her family and friends and our thoughts and prayers are with her daughter Rebecca and grandchildren David, Jack and Shannen.
