Board Statement - Apology to Julia Weir
The Board of Equestrian South Australia (ESA) offers Julia Weir an unreserved apology for any hurt, distress, or damage to her reputation and coaching business, caused by action taken against her in April 2023 by the former Board of ESA.
One of a number of legacy matters inherited by the current Board, following the resignation of all Directors of ESA in May 2023, involved allegations against Mrs Weir made by the former Board.
After completing a thorough investigation, the current Board found that advice provided by Mrs Weir in relation to the conditions for an Office of Recreation, Sport and Racing grant was correct. The current board found the allegations made against Mrs Weir to be unsubstantiated.
Mrs Weir did not breach any policies or confidentiality agreements and had, at all times acted reasonably, professionally and responsibly in her engagement with both the former Chair of Dressage SA and the former ESA Board in relation to advice she provided.
