Show Jumping News!

Just to let you the Jumping Team is currently preparing in Hagen Germany for the Olympic Qualifier for our region Group G.

In order to qualify for Rio, Australia must be one of the top two teams finishing at the event on Tuesday 25^th August, 2015.

There are five teams entered including Australia, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Japan and the Philippines.  In addition there are nine individuals competing from Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, New Zealand, People's Republic of China, Republic of Korea, Singapore and Thailand.

The two (2) best placed teams and the best placed individual rider from Group G are qualified to take part at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games.

Under the leadership of our captain Edwina Tops-Alexander, she and the rest of  team in Julia Hargreaves,  Scott Keach and Jamie Kermond have been preparing well ready to take on the other teams from our region.  The group all jumped well at Valkenswaard last week and have been putting the finishing touches on this week en route to Hagen.

Please join me in wishing the team and their horses all the very best this week.  With the Jumpers qualified this means a full team contingent for the Australian Equestrian Team on the road to Rio for next year.  Something we should all be striving and hoping for.
